These are best-case figures with proper prep, not guarantees. Why your Ghostbond might not last that long Ghostbond is a water-based adhesive, so anything that adds moisture or oil under the bond shortens its life: Oily skin. Sebum works its way into the bond from underneath. This is the most common reason a hairline lifts early. Sweat and heat. Gyms, hot jobs, saunas and summer holidays all take a toll. Getting it wet too soon. If the glue hasn't fully cured, water or sweat can turn it white and weaken it. For Ghostbond Classic, Pro Hair Labs' instructions say to wait at least 24 hours before showering or strenuous activity. Thick coats. Several thin coats, each left to dry clear, hold better than one heavy layer. Poor prep. Old residue, skin oils or remover left on the scalp stop the new bond gripping properly. How to make Ghostbond last longer Remove everything from last time. Use Ultra-Safe on the scalp, then wash with Dual Action Shampoo. Control sweat and oil. Apply No Sweat Scalp Antiperspirant and let it dry completely. Apply thin coats. Let each coat turn clear before the next (Pro Hair Labs gives roughly 20 seconds per coat), then wait the recommended few minutes before pressing the system down. Give it time to cure. Avoid the gym, swimming and long hot showers until the bond has set. Match the glue to your scalp. If XL lets go within a week, Platinum is the usual next step for oily or sweaty scalps. If you're getting days rather than weeks, our guide on why your hair system isn't lasting 3–4 weeks walks through the usual culprits. Each thin coat should dry clear in around 20 seconds. Pro Hair Labs then asks you to wait a few minutes after the final coat (its instructions give 4–10 minutes depending on the product and base) before you press the system into place. Can I swim the day after applying Ghostbond? Give it time to cure first. Pro Hair Labs' Classic instructions say to wait 24 hours before showering or strenuous activity.
